"We are waiting on our adoption referral of a 5 mos. old baby girl, expecting to travel this fall. While in Romania, we hope to do some ministry and we will also minister with pastor friends in Aviano, Italy and Scotland. Please pray for our 24 year old son in an Oregon jail for attempted murder and kidnapping in the first degree of his girlfriend. He could be near 60 if he gets prosecuted to full extent of the law, since Oregon has a Crime Victims bill which allows no time off for good behaviour. Alternative could be sending him to a state hospital. We believe he's suffered from Delayed Stress Syndrone, since his wife died two years ago in a violent auto accident on a lonely road on the beach highway going to Astoria, and help was not readily available. He has been so full of anger and guilt. She was 16 when they married and they were together just two years. Our finances could use prayer as all this traveling between states is expensive, long distance calls etc. And we have to have balance of our adoption fees to hand over by fall."

Brenda Price - "She is in her late 20's, has a several months old child (her first) and has just been diagnosed with an inoperable cancerous brain tumor. She is a very godly talented young lady. She and her husband, a deacon in our church, are very faithful. It had been previously said by the doctors to be a class 3 (on the 1 to 4 scale) and they gave her two years. However, tonight we got the most recent report from the doctors and they say it is actually a 1 or 2!!"

Jan and her family - Her husband has become violent and is apparently hitting her and the kids. Please pray for their protection.

"I am requesting prayer for my best Tereasa Upshaw (Upshaw123) she was hospitalized yesterday in Indiana. Doctors are not sure yet what is going think she has pneumonia. Please uplift her and her family in your prayers. If anyone is in the Gary, Indiana area I am sure she would love to her from you.......hospital. She is a little scared her mother passed away last year around the same time and she is an only child, doesn't have any relatives outside of her husband's family."

"Godfrey L. Smith III died March 29 from a self inflicted gunshot wound. His family is in shock as he was a very godly man. He leaves a wife, his parents and 4 children as well as grandchildren. He shot himself in his backyard. He had a very active prison ministry, worked with youth, and was always spreading God's word to those who needed it. Lord although no one may ever understand we trust that You knew his heart and that he is now in Your presence. I ask that You comfort his family as they struggle through their grief."

Kathy shares:

"A dear friend of mine is in desperate need of prayer! She (age 26) at this moment would rather remain anonymous. This all started two years ago when her then 4 yr. old daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy. This was very strenuous on her family. She also has a then 1 year old. Over the last two years, my friend has also suffered two miscarriages and the doctor's were beginning to determine that she was having some heart problems. Last winter my friend was brutally raped in her garage while her daughters were napping. A couple of weeks later she and her husband received the news that as a result of the rape, she was pregnant! This was something that they struggled with very much but the Lord gave them peace about their decision, they would keep the baby. Shortly after, she started receiving phone calls from her rapist. Apparently, he had been stalking her for a couple of years. He would send her love letters and flowers. He would also call her on the phone. Somehow he found out she was pregnant. The last time he called her house, when she answered the phone, it was him. He had a gun to his head and shot himself while she was on the other end. Two weeks later, she suffered a miscarriage and we all thought everything was going to get better. It wasn't. She started having more heart problems. In April, she had an appendicitis. The doctor's thought that this could have been adding to her heart problems, but after recovering from the surgery, her heart worsened. I spoke to her yesterday and she shared with me that she has congestive heart failure. To make matters worse, during a routine test to see if she would be a candidate for a heart transplant, she tested positive for HIV as a result of the rape. She now cannot have a transplant and the doctors do not give her much time. Her only hope at the present is a procedure in which they cauterize the heart, but she cannot have it at this time because her heart is enlarged. Her doctors told her that she could easily die in her sleep and that she needs this time to make arrangements and say good-bye to her friends."

Mike and Lynn Hutchinson (Missionaries) - "A day or two ago they were driving their car in the town when they were surrounded by a violent group of Muslim militants. After several very scary minutes, the Muslims stepped away from the vehicle and they began to drive off. As they sped away, one Muslim man was either pushed (or jumped) in front of their vehicle; he was killed. They immediately arrested Mike and charged him with murder. They put him in prison to await a speedy trial. If found guilty he will be hung immediately."

Cyndie - She has been in the hospital for the past 88 days and has just gotten out but still is not very well and asks that we pray for her.

Anita Rundell - "I just wanted to let everyone know that I have an Interview at Gallatin High School in Gallatin, TN (Just NE of Nashville). It is for a math position teaching basic math (pre-algebra) to those 8th and 9th graders that are having trouble passing the proficiency tests and also I would have 1 class of either Algebra I or Geometry students. I am leaving in the morning (Monday) at 8:30am. It takes about 7 hours to get down there. I'm blessed by being able to stay with a good friend's cousin. It's saving me alot of money, since I won't need to get a hotel. My interview is Tuesday morning at 10am (Nashville time - 11am EST). PLLEEEASSSEEE pray for me :) I want the will of God. Pray thatif it's God's will that I get the job that the door will be open wide and that I will know for sure. If it's not God's will, pray that the door will be shut tightly!"

"The nephew of a friend of mine was involved in a serious accident this morning. His name is Richard Strickland, he goes by 'Colby'. The initial word was they feared brain damage, and at this point they are not sure he's going to live. The family has been called in, things don't sound good from the doctor's perspective, but with God all things are possible. Please pray for this young man, he is only 22 or 23 years old, and his family."

"I had you wonderful people pray for a good job for my husband, on God answered. now I have another request, well really two. I need healing in my body, I have had a itchy rash for several months, tried every over the counter medidcine, nothing works. no insurance or money to see a doctor. also, we still have a big financial need. "I normally don't request prayer for myself but this time I do need your prayers. PRAY FOR ME... I am in alot of pain in my back both day and night. My back has gotten worse & I can hardly sleep at night or do anything at all. My doctor is sending me back to the Neuro-Surgeon who did my back surgery in 1990. I am going for an MRI THURSDAY AT 1:45 P.M., then see the surgeon as soon as they can get me in, hopefully next week. Pray that the MRI will show WHAT is wrong with my back. Something is definitely "out of whack"....I have sharp pains in my spine and down my hips and left leg real bad. My legs get numb just sitting a few minutes & also when I lay down, I can't find a positon where I don't hurt. I am so worried about this. I don't want to have surgery again because I remember the pain afterwards was very bad. But I have to do something. I can't go on this way. I had a ruptured disc and spur on my tailbone last time & the pain is similar to that, but worse this time. The pain goes up my spine also. This has been going on since January. That's when my doctor started giving me those shots in my back & they only helped for a day or two. I won't know the results of the MRI until I see the surgeon. I'll update you then. I know God is in control of my situation & I trust in Him to lead the Surgeon in whatever he has to do. God has never let me down & I know He will be with me through this. UNCLE ARAD'S MEMORIAL SERVICE is at 2 pm Saturday. Pray for our family as we Celebrate the life of a great Christian & Preacher."

For those of you who havent been following the emails she is only 20 yrs old, her mother passed away 2 yrs ago, 1 yr ago her brother killed his wife and himself.She has had a long history of abuse, and is emotionally distraught. I am also very concerned, she is suicidal and in need of emotional and physical healing. She found out yesterday the judge (in the case against her father raping her 7 times) is going to make her get on the stand and will not allow her to give her deposition in private chambers. Nikki is not going to do it. She is very scared and plans on leaving town and coming to live in my town. I would appreciate that you will lift up this new Christian in prayer."

The Remnant Church officially started Easter Weekend, but this has turned into the kick off weekend. There are evangelism plans, outreaches and many ministry opportunities that are available this weekend.

Robert Panko - "He has an ear infection and is taking two antibiotics - one for the bone and one for the ear infection. Robert's dad just called home, the lower portion of Robert's lungs has collapsed and he is carrying a fever, They said that could be a normal aftermath of surgery but the Doctors are worried because of the infection. He's in and out right now."

Bonita Wrather (Ed Wrather's mother)(2nd Update) - She is still in pain from her surgery but it is improving and things improved immediately after the prayer requests were sent out for her. Thank you!!

The Doctors will be removing the cancer and 1/2 of Peters stomach on Tuesday or Wednesday. Please have everyone keep him in prayer that everything go well and that he heal quickly."

Cindy - "Please pray with me that the Lord sends me 4 fulltime children to enroll and start in my daycare immediately so I can continue to afford my staff and not have to lay anyone off. My staff is 2 young college girls that need their checks to survive."

"Please continue to pray for my 2 month old neice (Arianne). It seems that now she has a bad urinary tract infection. The doctors are going to place a catheter in her urinary tract to see if she has what is called reflux (that is when the urine backs up) and if not treated this might cause her permanent kidney damage. Just pray for the baby and the parents to be at peace during the whole proceedure. My Grandma has been very ill lately and she is very old. Please pray that she gets better. My Mom wants to fly down and see her, (I don't mean to sound selfish) but she has some doctor appointments that REALLY need to be taken care of first. Please pray that my Mom is able to get those appointments out of the way and that Grandma will still be around so that Mom can spend sometime with her. Also pray for my uncle who is having surgery as well."

"Donna has had a week of ups and downs, Saturday night/Sunday was very bad - but she slept well Sunday night, so is feeling stronger and brighter again now. "Please pray for my husband and his daughter. They had an awful falling out a year ago and haven't spoken since. Please pray Joseph Holler. He is in his 80's and is in very bad health and in a nursing home. His prognosis is not good. He doesn't believe in God. He is my daughter-in-laws Grandfather and we're afraid that he will die without knowing God. Please pray that he will find God! Please pray for my husband who is having trouble with an incision healing. He fell March 21st and crushed his heel. The Dr. had to put in 8 screws and a plate. Please pray for speedy healing. He will have to return to work by the last of August."

"This moring my husband received an emergency call for his boss regarding the boss's 17 yr old daughter. Her name is Crystal Baca. She was a passenger in a car with her friends when the driver fell asleep at the wheel. Crystal has haad emergency surgery this morning to have fluid removed from her brain, and the blood pressure removed from her brain. She has a broken spine in 2 places and severe head ingeries. She is currently in ICU. Please keep Crystal in your prayers for a full recovery. Also please keep her family in your prayers that they will be able to get through this."

Bonita Wrather (Update) - The surgery for knee replacement went well and she made it through most of the night until about 4am without much pain. But since 4am she has been in much pain. She can be a very difficult patient even when things are going well.

Debbie - "I used to be a single parent and I've lost my child behind a cult movement. Every since I lost contact with him(13) I seem to have lost contact with everything. I have also had four deaths in my family during my involvement in the cult. I didn't know it was one it seemed like an ordinary church at first. It's still very difficult to talk about so I'm asking for you prayers. I'm trying to start over at another church and another city it seems impossible for me to build relationships. I do feel isolated,alone and scared."

Liz - "Please help me I am in need of much prayer. I have fibromyalgia so when I had a car accident I didn't realize that the pain was not from fibromyalga but from compression fractures. This resulted in surgery. I also Have bulged disks in my neck and back from that accident which was 1-9-77. I just yesterday was involved in a head on collision with a car full of teenagers. The bulged disks are now herniated and the pain is more then I can handle. Also I would ask that you pray for the teenagers in the other car."

"Bob's first battery of tests look good. He is scheduled for a cat scan and UGI in a couple of weeks to see why he still has some stomach problems. We also went to an eye doctor today because it can affect the vision. They put tubes in his tear ducts to stop the constant tearing. He also has to put in drops in his eyes every two or three hours to keep them moist. It is part of what can happen with an overactive thyroid...they call it dry eye. Happens when the eyes bulge and the lids don't close all the way. The good news is his weight has stabilized and he found out he has an excellent cholesterol count."

Doris asks:
"Rudy Brinkman, a wonderful friend and soulmate in Holland, is suffering from what appears to be Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, back and arm problems that are virtually crippling him. He has had to cut *way* back on his computer time both at home and at work - it's so bad that his boss told him to take 10 minutes off every 30, and spend as little time as possible on the computer."

Brandon Prather - (Update) Had almost six hour surgery on Thursday for continued reconstruction of clef palate. He is 17 and this was the eighth surgery he has had. Surgery went well. Please pray for his recovery.

Helen asks: "I would like prayer for my husband who fell in March and crushed his heel. He had 8 screws and a plate put in surgically. He is having problems with getting the incision healed. It keeps growing "proud flesh" and then it breaks open and drains. Please pray for healing for him." "Pease pray for my son who has a herniated disk. He is unable to work. He is only 29 and is married with 2 children."

I have prayed for this time for a while and it finally happened! ARE PRAYERS ANSWERED? Iknow they are!! Praise GOD - HE is almighty!!

Please remember us, as we struggle through this month--financially. The Lord is still testing my faith. I am no longer baby sitting--the child's grand mother moved to our area and she is keeping him. The child is not in a good situation, parents are not married, and split completely right now.

"Today Lindsay's doctors stopped the experimental chemo as it was not working. She has been told the cancer has spread to her bladder, it had been contained in her lungs and pelvic region. With the spread of the cancer she has been experiencing vaginal bleeding which has left her very weak, tonight when she got home she could hardly walk."

Linda Clark, who fell ten feet and landed on her feet - "...she is recovering very well. She gets around in a wheel chair in order to stay off her feet until July 9. She has started therapy. Her left ankle has some movement but her right ankle is stiff. Therapy is to help loosen up stiffness, scar tissue and muscles. Pray for her therapy process, that no blood clots from and that there be few as possible arthritis problems in future years."

Frances Spearman asks:
Pray for Faith Lee, a good Christian friend of mine from New York. She is having very serious SPINAL SURGERY on MONDAY, JUNE 14th. The Dr. will be repairing some severe damage to her spine. She has gone through similar surgery before, but had some bad after affects because of the severe pain. She NEEDS OUR PRAYERS, because anytime surgery is done to the spinal region, it is very serious. She will be in the hospital several days & about 3 months of therapy afterward. Little Caroline Price is 18 months old and was born with a serious heart defect in Dec.1997. She has already had one surgery on Aug 18, 1998. Caroline will be having SURGERY again on TUESDAY, JUNE 15th to CLOSE THE HOLE IN HER LITTLE HEART. It will be done at the Medical Univ.of South Carolina Children's Hospital in Charleston. Her parents are Jeff & Tamora Price, formerly of Goose Creek, SC. They live in Darlington, SC, where Jeff is the Pastor of Freedom Baptist Church. They are good friends & very dedicated Christian parents. I ask that you pray for Caroline and her family during this time. Robert Panko - "who will have major chest surgery on June 21,. He, also, is our grandson and his surgery will be even worse. They have to cut completely through the chest wall just as if he was having open heart surgery. What they have to do is cut the ribs and put metal bars in to expand the chest because his sternum and rib cage is sinking in. It has cassed the heart to move over two inches trying to function. His parents have already been told, when they relieve the pressure off of the heart and lungs, he could have a heart attack. The doctors told them at least a thirty-five per cent chance. I should add that as of today his surgery is scheduled for June 21st but Shriners Hospital has already rescheduled twice."

Willie and Vern Lee - "Willie has had numerous health problems lately including prostate problems, high blood pressure, and has recently had to have all of his teeth pulled due to gum disease. His wife has been suffering for years with extreme anxiety problems. These 2 have ministered to hundreds of people one on one and prayed for so many in the Body of Christ. They are going thru the firey trials and it is time for us to lift them up. Please pray for these 2 dear saints of God."

They had to remove the cartilage from the bottom three ribss on each side. The Sternum bone had to be broke to remove the calcium build up behind it and the Zyphoid tip of the Sternum had to be removed all together. Needless to say he's in a lot of pain."

Jody and her family - "Recently, we have come under a tremendous financial burden. My husband is working 70 hr. per week to try and keep up. My husband feels that that the devil is using this burden to keep him away from his family and to destroy us spiritually, as it is taking a toll for us all. Peter N. - "Today he got a report that he might have stomach cancer. They want to do more tests tomorrow. He has lost 20 pounds in the last 2 weeks. He is not saved although some in the family are. Having this disease is like having Mononucleosis, Lyme Disease and early stage Alzheimer's, with a large dose of chemical and environmental sensitivities. It is a cyclic illness which means though the primary symptoms remain, we may have several additional symptoms for several months or years and then they change or rotate. Many doctors do not understand this illness which makes it very difficult to be diagnosed and get proper treatment. My 23 year old daughter had to drop out of college because of her symptoms and can only work a few hours a week. Right now her worst symptom is fatigue."

Dear Praying Friends,
First, I want to thank all of you who have been praying for me, my family, and our situation here at our church. The messages you have sent back, both public and private, along with your prayers, have helped keep me going when sometimes I didn't think I could go on another day.

Second, I want to ask you to pray for us, as things aren't getting any better here. Without going into too much detail about the tremendous stress and heartbreak I (and my family) are under, suffice to say that I am seriously considering leaving the ministry for good.I'm exhausted, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. So is my family. We (especially me) just can't take it anymore. Most of you know the problems we have with our Bus Director, our Youth Director, our Sunday School Director (we don't have one), our (former) Nursery Director, etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseum. . . We are so down in every way. . . No one wants to do anything at all.Being a naturally "take charge" type of person, I have always worked with and without others around the church. I was told this was "bad" and made people unwilling to help do anything around the church, for fear I would make them do it "my" way. So - I quit doing anything in the church except the basic pastoral stuff. Six months later - NOTHING is being done at all by anybody. Tonight I was told that being a "take charge" person is, in effect, sinful. I'm being told how and what to preach, and that if I were more like Jesus, more people would come to hear me preach (after all - EVERYONE in Palestine loved to listen to Jesus when HE spoke: those that are like Jesus have the same thing happen to them, too) - I was actually told this.

I'm to the point that if I had a place to go, I'd leave in the morning. No, scratch that - I'd leave right now. But I have no place to go - and no other source of income to feed my family. I feel stuck in a never-ending bad dream where I am surrounded by critics who don't want to help me (ala Galatians 6), but would, rather, spend their time beating me down until one day I can't get up.Aren't there churches where the people actually love their pastor and his family, and work to help him be more like Christ? Isn't there somewhere we can go and be loved instead of judged and criticized?

So many of you have been through the mill like I have, and you've shared with me how God brought you through - well, brothers, and sisters, I'm about at the end of my proverbial rope. If something doesn't happen soon to break the tension and allow God to send real revival, I may snap. Pray for me. Pray for my family. Pray for our people. We need it. Sorry to bother you all again, but I just have nowhere else to turn after I have looked up. I'm going to be "out" for a day or two. I'm not even sure if I'll return to the pulpit here (or anywhere else, for that matter) again.

I need prayers against any complications from the general anesthesia, as in the past I've had serious problems with low blood pressure, difficulty waking and nausea that necessitated emergency care. Also, I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis, Sjorgren's syndrome and fibromyalgia, three conditions that produce fatigue that could complicate my recovery. My most urgent need for prayer is during the first 24 hours of my surgery when I will be at greatest risk for complications from the gas injected in my belly, the anesthesia and other drugs given me, including the antiobiotic by iv, and from my general physcial weakness due to my autoimmune diseases. In other words, I need miracle prayers to protect me from complications and for a normal, speedy recovery with regular physical energy and health."

Dear SC,
I can very much relate to the season that your are in. And your must remember that , that is what you are in, a season. I am there myself. I have not taken my eyes off of Jesus Christ in 3 years. Eventhough I have not taken my eyes off of Jesus, here lately I have begun to feel a distance between myself and Jesus. I still worship Him and love Him more than anything else. But I am not feeling as close as I have been in the past. I believe this may be Gods way of allowing us to stray, to see if we are obedient and realize that we are not where we should be and, return to His awaiting arms.
One other thing that helps me is every time before I read Gods word I pray before I begin reading. I pray that God will open my eyes and show me what He has planned for me. And that His spirit will guide my thoughts.

Don't give in to satan. Just begin by thanking Jesus for saving you and give Him all the glory and praise that He deserves. You have my prayers with you and I know that it want be but a short time and your will be back where your belong.

Keep your eyes on Jesus and you will never go wrong.

We all looked at each other and smiled. I told the doctor that we knew that there would be no blood. He said, " You willed it." I said, "No, we prayed it!" He said, "Well, someone was listening." WE ALL KNOW WHO WAS LISTENING!!! PRAISE GOD!!!"

Update on Darian: "Darian is recovering from her first chemo treatment. She is starting to heal from all of the bruising and getting some color back. When she had her spinal the tests came back that there was no trace of the luekemia in her spine or brain. Which I am told is very good. God is doing a mighty work here."

Update on Darian: "She received her first chemo treatment last night along with a spinal tap. The doctors say her form of Lukemia is called AL lukemia. Which is 80% curable.(Praise God) The doctors say if everything goes right she could possibly be in remission in 4 weeks. Tim Witt asks:
1. My Dad had a stroke in January and he also had a pacemaker inserted. His energy level has not increased to a noticeable point. Also, his emotional state has not been good. Please remember him.
2. My parents have their place up for sale in order to move to a smaller place about a mile from me. My Mother doesn't drive, so this is a necessary move. Someone is interested in the place. Please pray that it will sell if it's God's will.
3. My sinuses and allergies have really been bad the past couple of weeks. Please pray that God will give me the strength to endure until better health returns.
4. I'm a state employee. Our budget for the next fiscal year has a projected shortfall of $365 million. Unless something happens soon, we face a cut of up to 2000 state jobs. Pray that a miracle will happen and that this won't be necessary while also praying that those who can't afford it won't be hit with a tax increase. This is being written during lunch at a library. I had to clarify that I wasn't using state property.

Debbie Burch in Clanton Alabama - "...hanging on to life by a thread and only Gods grace. She had a very bad car wreck with a grandchild which thank God the child is ok. Her name is Maxine and she is the rock that holds her family together. She has went through a major surgery to repair her aorta but still has other surgerys that need to be done that cant be right now. She has many broke bones, 7 broke ribs , a leg that is litterly ripped open but can only be packed at this time. She is losing blood, has an infection with fever, has a puncture in her lung and thats just for starters."

Update on missing missionary in Argentina: "My father-in-law returned from Tuccman today. After four days of searching for answers, he says there is a possible (and he stressed "possible") suspect in a kidnapping. He says there are still a lot of unanswered questions but Miguel still has not returned nor has he been found. Please continue to pray for this situation, especially Mrs. Gianuzzo and her 6 kids (they range from 3 years old to 18).

A Friend of Cindy Hyde - "Her husband has been viciously attacking her since she has gone back into her ministry in the last couple of months. She is as close to the Proverbs 31 woman as I have ever seen and nothing is pleasing her husband. She ministers at the nursing home, has a weekly Bible Study, attends church regularly, and serves God with prayer walks... But he is only in church on Sunday mornings and is critical, judgmental, and needs peace, deliverance, and restroation. He is under conviction because he is a "called" man of God who is out of God's will and refuses to give in. You know you have no peace in your spirit once you have served God and are in a "backslidden state". Agree with us that the Lord shake him up to the point that he will repent and seek once again to serve the Lord God with all his heart. He has pastored several churches but the last one really devestated them. He has not recovered yet. So he needs to forgive and heal as well."
