The Truth about Psychics according to the Bible is that real psychics do have supernatural knowledge. However, that supernatural knowledge comes directly from the DEVIL and his DEMONS.
The apostle Paul encountered a psychic in Philippi. Here is how the Bible relates this event: (Acts 16:16-20) And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which show unto us the way of salvation.
And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the market place unto the rulers,
And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city, and teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.
The truth is that Psychics do have supernatural knowledge gained through the Devil and his demons. The Bible warns us not to give place to the devil. Whenever we contact or listen to a psychic we are giving place to the devil and opening ourselves up to his attacks. The truth is that we ought to avoid psychics like the plague!
The current version of the Ouija Board was first called the "Witch Board." It was used to contact the dead and as a result the product was a good seller. William Fuld bought the rights to the "Witch Board" in 1892 and patented it. He renamed the "Witch Board" as the "Ouija Board" because the board told him to do so. The word "Ouija" comes from the French word for yes combined with the German word for yes. In 1966 Parker Brothers bought the rights to the Ouija Board and marketed it as a game.
Danny Korem, a magician in his book THE FAKERS states:
"I have seen, heard, and read, however, of many negative experiences that have entrapped people who have sought knowledge with a Ouija board. If you own a Ouija board or some similar diversion, my advice is to destroy it and never encourage others to tinker with such devices."
In Terry Ann Modica's book THE POWER OF THE OCCULT Rev. Donald Page, a well know clairvoyant in the Christian Spiritualist Church is qouted as stating that the Ouija Board is "one of the easiest and quickest ways to become possessed."
The Truth about Ouija Boards is that they are a tool of the devil and his demons. To use a Ouija Board is to sin against God and have fellowship with demons.
The Bible tells us in Deuteronomy 18:10-12, "Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord...."
Isaiah 47:13,14: “Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.”
Colossians 2:8: “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”
The NAB translates Colossians 2:8 in this way: “See to it that no one deceives you through any empty, seductive philosophy that follows mere human traditions, a philosophy based on cosmic powers rather than on Christ.”
Daniel 2:2: “Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to show the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.”
Astrologers are in the same category as sorcerers, and magicians! Astrology according to the Word of God cannot save us from the things to come. Astrology is an empty human philosophy which seeks to deceive. It seeks to have us place our trust in astrology rather than in God.
When we place our trust in astrology we are creating an idol. Because astrology is taking the place of God in our lives. If you always read the astrological column in the newspaper this may be an indication of your devotion and trust in astrology. It is even more of an indication if you read the Bible less than you read about astrological things.
When you must make an important decision do you turn to the astrological column or book? Or do you turn to reading of the Bible and to God in prayer?
In Hebrews 9:27 we are told, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” The Bible makes it clear in Hebrews 9:27 that we only die one time not multiple times. We are judged one time not multiple times.
How do some people under hypnosis or some even awake recall events from past lives? It is simply a case of demonic suggestion. Satan through his demons will take advantage of those who have a desire to believe in reincarnation to reinforce their false belief. Satan is a deceiver and a liar. Demons are deceivers and liars too.
The Bible is in complete opposition to any suggestion of reincarnation. There is no mention of any person being reincarnated in the Bible. For any person to say that the Bible supports reincarnation is to attempt to deceive and to distort the truth of God’s Word.
The Burning Bush Devotional has been sent to many groups who forward the devotional on to others, however, one of those groups at the bottom of the devotional has been adding comments. I was astonished to recently read, “Those of you who are familiar with the doctrine of reincarnation....” There is no “Christian” doctrine of reincarnation. No “Christian” denomination teaches reincarnation. Here are some of the denominations I am familiar with: Southern Baptist, American Baptist, Independent Baptist (not a denomination), United Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopal, Lutheran, Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Assemblies of God, Pentecostal Holiness, Evangelical Free, Four Square, Disciples of Christ, Church of Christ (If I left your “Christian” denomination out please forgive me.).
I believe that this is an example of an attempt to deceive and that in these times we must be constantly alert to the danger of false teachers.
